ROUTES
MACHAME: Often called the "Whiskey Route," is one of the most popular and scenic paths to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its diverse landscapes and breathtaking views, it offers trekkers a challenging yet rewarding experience. This route approaches Kilimanjaro from the southwest, winding through lush rainforests, alpine moorlands, and volcanic landscapes before reaching Uhuru Peak.
RONGAI: One of the less-traveled paths to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, known for its scenic beauty, diverse landscapes, and relatively gentle gradient. Approaching from the north near the Kenyan border, this route offers a unique perspective on the mountain, passing through lush forests, open moorlands, and striking alpine desert. It's generally less crowded than other routes, making it a great option for climbers seeking a quieter experience. While it has a slightly longer ascent, it allows for better acclimatization and offers stunning views of Kenya's plains along the way.
MARANGU: Often called the "Coca-Cola Route," is the oldest and one of the most popular paths up Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its gentler slopes and hut-based accommodation, this route provides a relatively comfortable and scenic ascent, making it a popular choice for climbers seeking a less rugged experience. Spanning 5-6 days, the trail passes through lush rainforests, heather moorlands, and alpine deserts, culminating at the Uhuru Peak. While it's considered a shorter route, acclimatization can be challenging due to its direct path, so climbers are encouraged to take an extra day for better adaptation.
